The first step towards an effective communications strategy is understanding what you have set as goals for the organisation, so that your strategy can assist in achieving those goals. From designed materials to events to PR, we will generate a wish list of ideas. We will then engage in a strategic prioritisation exercise to shortlist what we can do and achieve over the year.
Week 3: Calendaring and resource allocation
We will design and build a year long communications calendar with the shortlisted ideas. We will also discuss and assign time, resources, funds that need to go into each of them. By the end of this week we will have a clear plan of action with the budget and resources required to execute on the strategy.
Week 4: Constructing your digital strategy
Since digital outreach is a critical facet of communications for us, we will focus this week on learning about how we can boost our digital presence in-house. We will learn quick tips on how to create content and develop and plan and calendar for your digital outreach.

Over the last 7 years, our team has been helping organisations achieve their fundraising, brand building, recruitment and program goals by leveraging communications. We are a small team doing targeted long-term projects. We have worked hard in helping the market change its perception of the role of communications & design, and begin investing more in research-backed solutions. This has been a slow change. There is still a lot more work to be done, and a lot more support needed. The Blueprint Project is our way to train + build capacity within orgs that are working on tight timelines and bootstrapped resources.
