  • When we say Submarine is a 3-day immersive conference, we mean it. The 3 days will be peppered with interactive workshops, discussions and some solo reflection time, in addition to the power-packed sessions we have lined up for you. We also have dedicated time for Submariners to chat and get to know each other's work.

We encourage participants to not use their laptops during the conference, unless absolutely necessary. The idea is to stay locked into the sessions and conversations throughout. (We have tons of coffee and tea to help with this :)

We have also intentionally built the conference schedule to accommodate Bangalore's infamous peak hours. We start early and end early. Feel free to explore the city after the sessions end for the day.

  • What to wear?

There is no particular dress code. You will be spending long days at the venue participating in workshops, discussions and activities. Prioritise comfort over anything else. The space is centrally air-conditioned and may get slightly cold sometimes. Carry a shawl or a light jacket just in case.  Lastly, it has been raining quite a bit in Bangalore, so bring an umbrella or a rain jacket to be safe.

Should I bring my laptop for the Submarine Conference?

No, you won't need your laptop for the 3 days of the conference. In case you need to refer to or work on some of your organisational collaterals to implement some learnings, feel free to carry a laptop. But otherwise, you won't need it.

How long does it take to travel from the airport to Bangalore International Centre?

Travel time by car from both T1 and T2 airports to BIC, takes approximately 1.5 to 2 hours. You can get Uber/OLA or pre-paid cabs from the airport. A cab ride costs approximately Rs. 1000-1300.

Is there any pre-read or homework before the conference?

There is no pre-read or homework before the conference. The only recommendation is to clear your calendar for the 3 days you are with us and plan for the rest of your team to hold the fort while you are gone so that you can be fully present (physically and mentally) for all sessions.

Which meals are included during the conference?

You'll get lunch, coffee and tea on all 3 days of the conference.

  • Getting to BIC

    From the Airport:

We also offer specialised 1-1 assistance for Orgs where the Studio Subu team will  help you apply the frameworks and tools shared during Submarine in a strategic and systematic way.

Learn more about this program on the link below. In case you have any other questions, please ask any of the Studio Subu team members at the conference.

    Comms Advisory Support

Year-long support for organisations who are working at a nascent and/or bootstrapped level and looking for customised assistance on how to strengthen their communication methods for raising funds, building partnerships.

  • We are a small team doing targeted work for organisations driving social change. We have been working hard in helping the market change its perception of the role of communications & design, and begin investing more in research-backed solutions. This has been a slow change. There is still a lot more work to be done, and a lot more support needed. Over the last 9 years, our team has engaged with over 200+ organisations through its services, training & capacity building programs and short courses. Our partner organisations work across the field of Health & Nutrition, Education, Youth Leadership, Water, Housing, Road Safety, Community Development, Gender, and Women Empowerment.

The Studio Subu team will be with you across the 3 days of the conference. Reach out to us with any questions you might have or to just say hi!
